Un mensaje de la Directora.. My name is Jacki Torres and God has brought me on an incredible journey. I graduated in 2005 from Franciscan University of Steubenville. God has done a lot in my life, and most of that is things I never would have imagined! Right when I was a teenager, I was Pentecostal, planning on studying Christian music in Nashville, and God showed me the beauty of the Eucharist, and called me to be a missionary of all things! After several years in Mexico, Guatemala, and various other places, God called me down to Chile, where I studyed at the Pontifical University and met my future husband Andrés. After returning to the US to graduate, my husband and I started working in Colorado as youth ministers for the Anglo and Hispanic youth groups. It was there that God put on our hearts the tremendous need for qualified, un-afraid youth ministers who will open their hearts to the Hispanic young people, who are tremendous part of the future of the Church. In June, 2006, we decided to move back to Chile with our daughter Noele, our cat Krishna, and everything but the kitchen sink. We are part of the diocesan youth ministry team and very active in the Charismatic renewal and youth conferences. Along with our team members, we have felt God putting a burning desire in our hearts for a long time to open a Spanish immersion and ministry training school. Finally, we had gotten to a point where none of us could ignore what the Holy Spirit was telling us, and we decided to step out of the boat and walk on water towards Jesus! There are always doubts about where the money will come from, how many people will come, etc., but we then realized that this is God's work, and God will put this on people's hearts and get together the necessary funds to make this work. After all, this is HIS project, and nothing is impossible for God. |
